Which of the following is likely on the Demonetization decision of the RBI Board

1. They took it completely independently and informed the PM at the last minute to communicate to the public as he is a good speaker

2. They advised the PM in their own independent wisdom who took the decision given its large impact

3. They were told about the specificities of the decision at the last minute lest it leak out to the general public

4. They took the decision 6 months back and were busy preparing for how to implement it smoothly.

Number 3 seems most likely

It should ideally have been a combination of 2 and 4, particularly taking into account Modi's personality.

As per Modi's personality, isn't number 3 a more probable scenario? Considering he almost has a dictatorial ruling style.

The debate on whether he is indias greatest democrat or dictator is ongoing and tough to resolve here or anywhere else

But what's a no brainier is his power to polarise people with equal energy on both sides
