Has the world rejected liberalism ?

Brexit and now Donal Trump indicate that world has rejected the idea of liberalism when it comes to affecting their own interests. In a closet they care about their personal interests first and then the world.

India too is seeing rejection of liberalism as a mass opinion.

But won't this lead to more chaos, more wars more damage, more hate.

Is it the cycle of world?

I might have gone too far but election of Trump with a big margin is going too far as well.

To add to this. I sincerely want to understand something. When you say that people, dalits, aadiwasis, women, students, youths are affected by capitalist class, what do you exactly mean.

Dalits are affected by deep rooted social plague and not really capitalism, aadivasis are living a secluded life as they demand. Women are suffering because of our patriarchal nature of society, I am not sure how students and youth are victim of capitalist class rather student and youth are finding many opportunities because of capitalist class.

I have no bias towards any political ideology and hence I want to understand your point of view.

Real sufferers are people who are deprived of their freedom and basic necessities. Like beggers, Physically handicaps, trafficked girls, LGBT community, they are deprived of a basic human life and freedom and this does not come from a capitalist class. Vishwajeet Kumar a sincere question, how does AISF look to solve this problem.

Masturbation and Islam

I hope I am not offending anyone by this discussion.

I am not asking if it is haram. Obviously it is. However, why is it haram? As a young male who is a long time away from getting married, Usually when something is haram it is because it is bad for you such as alcohol, pork, sex before marriage etc. What exactly makes masturbation bad for you? Is it physically or psychologically bad for you? Or both?

If the Quran as a received text is perfect, why are hadith and sunnah so valued?

The Quran isn't your typical science book. It sometimes is very straightforward and explicit, sometimes it is open to interpretation and sometimes it is impossible for an

"The Quran does not explain how to pray but it does explain why we must pray. "

For one, this isn't true, because the Quran does mention times of prayer, how to purify yourself for prayer, and various poses one can assume for prayer.

Two, and more importantly, your point doesn't make any sense. You are essentially saying, "there are topics in the Quran that aren't broken down into excruciating detail, therefore we must use tertiary sources to supplement the Quran". This doesn't follow at all.

Does the Quran command us to seek out these details in tertiary sources like Hadith? No. Do we even know if such details are important? No.

If a book exists that claims to be the final and only un-corrupted source of God's teachings, covers various topics with varying degrees of detail, and says no more about it, it seems logical to infer that anything not covered is either unimportant, or too obvious to merit specific mention.

The leap you made to adding "details" with tertiary sources like Hadith is an unnatural one; a result of working backwards to justify your use of Hadith, rather than a logical inference one makes while reading the Quran.

Difference between a conservative Muslim, Islamist, and Jihadist? What do awaremonks think?

I take issue with "conservative Muslims" definition. This is an EXTREMELY loose category and can cover a wide spectrum. One can be conservative in their application of Islam but not be an extremist.

You probably need a working definition of extremist before you toss it about like that. To me, extremist means someone willing to engage in or support terror violence.

Just being an extremely conservative Muslim doesn't mean you wish to engage in acts of terror or even support them.

Minhaaj Rehman I would like you to have your opinion here.

What if there was no surgical strike?

I am confused. India said that they did an operation "Along" the border and killed 40 "terrorists" and 2 soldiers. Pakistan said that there was no cross border movement - just firing and two of its soldiers were killed. Now Pakistan says that it captured one alive - so where was he? across the border? I suppose both sides are lying and jingoistic, tv loving audiences of both countries are merrily going along
