A true poll of the shifting national mood

From euphoria to doomsday prediction, the mood is wide and swinging. Depending on one's evolving perception ( and this is evolving fast with the changing picture on cash delivery to the economy and imagination of how the new economy could work and what more steps are to follow ), one can take different positions in the continuum

1. The boldest reform of India which would herald the country back to "sone ki chidiya" with rule of law and tax paying citizens and businesses working together to build this great nation under Modiji's vision

2. A game changing step which needs to be implemented properly, not allowing people to go scot free and making sure the pain for the common man is minimized. And govt spending needs to be pumped to cover the gaps in already falling private investment. A social security net and reduced taxation could aid the transition.

3. A bold move which can go awry, in terms of GDP contraction, job losses and destruction of small businesses which were surviving on the borders of taxation

4. A national tragedy which reminds one of the stupid decision taken years ago by Tughlak which caused untold hardship to the citizens.

How do we use this platform to create a poll on this and try to make it as representative as we can

Could Arnab Goswami be headed to join the BJP ?

His volte face from the anti-establishment relentless media activist to the nationalistic rabble rouser has been quite complete over the last couple of years. He may just have quit to get a larger share of pie from the brand by owning a new startup in the media space.

But is his real contribution to make prime time television so combative that no substantive discussion can ever happen

Or is he a clever gauge of public mood and uses his theatrics to hammer home a majoritarian angst in each of his vilification campaigns. Thus like Baba Ramdev before, is he using the power of television to build his personal brand amidst the cacophony of his shows.

What really is his legacy ?

Are investors still getting convinced by flashy yourstory headlines?

My Green Box was a part of Yourstory's tech 30 initiative. YS is promoting the startups that are associating with them and helping them pull crowd into events like Tech 30, indirectly making good money out of them. So in a way it is paid!

Coming to what VC's think of such headlines and whether they would get lured by it...maybe yes, but the smart ones read between the lines. The importance of such stories is slowly dying, because a lot of online media companies have come up in the past and because everyone now knows that you can get an amazing story anywhere by shelling out some money! And VC's today understand how it is. I really believe that while there may be are a lot who still go by fancy headlines like this one, there are many more who look deep into the entrepreneurs, their capabilities of adding value to the world, their passion and not care about all this.

Facebook failed in its ambitious attempt of becoming the online shopping store, should there be a change in their strategy?

Facebook did everything, it introduced chatbots in Messenger, it was the ideal place for an commerce to exist. Earlier this month, Facebook said developers had built 30,000 bots to date.
Then why has it failed to do so? Do they need to revise their strategy or forget the dream to be an ecommerce platform

Did the presidential debate actually work for Trump

Though a lot of people have criticised Trumps speech in the presidential debate, however is it not what he has been talking about since forever? IMO i feel trump spoke what he knew his audience would like to hear and it did work in his favour and Trump is still a potential candidate.

Is Ar-Go journalism driven by a passionate ideology or a smart pandering to a taste of India's elite ?

I don't see any ideology behind his journalism, he only caters to the audience that likes drama and his theatrics keep viewers glued to their TV sets. While a lot of people admire his opinions, I think they are a bigger fan of his dramatic presentation. I don't consider him a serious journalist, he is like the kid in class who makes a lot of noise just to be noticed.
