Govt needs 2 learn frm ecom unicorns on discounts needed to change consumer behavior

Some discounts announced to incentivize digital. Good direction as long as cost savings on transactions justify them

or maybe one can walk down the ecom portals direction of funding discounts without immediate justification too

In any case the digital footprint on essentials like Railways is already very high and growing, the challenge is how to inculcate habits outside of essentials. ( those would take huge discounts as Ola/ Oyo/ flipkart can tell the Finance Minister )

Pro-or anti-govt is both simplistic and artificial. Critical inquiry sees does not see the boundary of govt or nation. We need to be worried if we lose that sense of questioning.

Who is the most Deshbhakt of them all amongst digital wallets ?

Tanya had posted

Why do they need to be deshbhakts ?Yes agreed, Govt. should come out with their own mode of cashless payments, but the private players are not obliged here

Rohit pande Have a view on many things but happy to thras

But isn't that the whole narrative ?

Otherwise what business does the govt have to promote cash vs non-cash

and within non-cash, digital vs credit/ debit cards

and paytm vs say a mobikwik

Since most cash is coming back into banking system, I think the main motive of demonetization would be to subject citizens to a drill of deshbhakti only

We would stretch the limits of our credulity till the incredulous springs back and mocks us.

In Modi's India, will farmers (like soldiers) regain their significance

Syed Raza had posted

I wonder why, farmers are their strong votebank, workign for farmers will make govt's position strong on nationalism too.

Rohit pande Have a view on many things but happy to thras

Before we get to farmers, lets clarify how soldiers get significance

1. Surgical strikes on Pakistan raise their pride and unclench their clenched fists

2. General Bakshi and Mahroof Raza on Times Now attack Pakistani guests with such venom that the soldier feels he has emptied a tank on the enemy

3. OROP is at least partially implemented

4. Manohar Parikar talks about how enemy trembles and begs India to stop hostilities

5. PM Sir spends Deepawali with soldiers

6. The political establishment wears the mantle of the Avengers of Uri

Nationalism Nationalism everywhere.

Is the big surprise what BJP is doing ?

Money + power + Media control + Tech leadership is a very powerful cocktail to spin any narrative

Every brand has the right to appropriate all symbols that empower it further.

Whats surprising is how meekly the opposition is able to respond

someone who is smart thinks that people are very stupid
