Islamic countries failed to develop even with resources like oil, whilst countries with no resources like Switzerland have flourished.

Has it anything to do with the fact that Islamic countries let their religious edicts over-ride all other things (politics, democracy, women's rights, free speech, secularism)?

Dhyan Chand before Sachin Tendulkar for Bharat Ratna ?

Sudhanshu had posted

Major Dhyan Chand managed to reach a level which was unheard of for Indian sportsmen, especially in that era. The level of mastery he had with the stick was awe inspiring

Comparison of two people who not only played different sports but in totally different eras, is wrong in my humble opinion. A point where I would slightly disagree with you on is that, most of the stories we hear about Dhyan Chand run the risk of being exaggerated given the time since it happened. Hence, the question of favoring Sachin over DhyanChand is entirely lacking a premise I feel. Two great sportsmen of their eras, who deserve the respect of the nation, Bharat Ratna or not.

Time to start discussion on Indian adultery laws ?

I agree. The whole "scandal" has managed to totally avoid what the actual issue is, sex between two consenting adults in their own private space is still condemned. We still have big, glaring double standards as a society whenever the topic of sex comes up. We say that India is developing, people are, but this attitude is utterly regressive. A side point is that, while the woman's name has been protected, we have totally thrown Sandeep Kumar under the bus. No one has stood up for him through this entire ordeal and that is shameful considering the fact that he did not do much wrong. Vilifying an adult for having sex should never happen. We have to grow up as a society.

What is happening at Arsenal?

Arsenal bought two players in this summer transfer window-

Granit Xhaka - 34mil

Rob Holding - 2mil

Clearly, they need more players. At least one striker and one centre half.

It's easy to blame Wenger for not buying more players. But someone of his experience and understanding will obviously know what's good for the club more than people from outside, whose sources of information are not authentic.

Arsenal was the most cash-rich club in the premier league when the transfer window began. So, what could have possibly gone wrong? Are the scouts to be blamed? Are the agents failing to convince players to sign for arsenal? Is the board too reluctant to spend big? Is it Wenger's fault after all?
