Middle life crisis

Married sex is like the gym for me too.

Both are things I know I should do, but the thought of being the 14th guy of the day to get sweaty while awkwardly fumbling with the equipment is just too much to get me motivated.

So, I just keep paying a monthly fee for something i don't use, waiting for the end of that lifetime contract I signed because it seemed like a good deal at the time.

Our awaremonk journey till here and the road ahead for us

I am passive reader of awaremonk. To me awaremonk is like a place where we go after our day's job to see interesting thoughts. What I miss is more to and fro conversation as you mentioned Rohit pande.

implementation of Communal Award

We have padma shri padma vibhushan khelne ratna bharat ratna presidents award for various fields. All of them are given on the basis of capabilities and service to the nation. Why implement such a regressive thing in progressive India?

So is going all in with force and attack Pakistan to completely weaken it, the solution?

UN is ignoring Tibet consciously, is it also afraid of China?

Because UN is a toothless body. Only UNSC is capable taking any enforceable action against a sovereign nation, but it cannot because PRC is a permanent member and it will obviously veto anything which questions its atrocious record. Tibetans are in a helpless situation.

Are we at Awaremonk different from Quora ?

It is my first day here, it looks very different form Quora to me.

It strikes the cord, I think it is one thing a lot of people must be looking out for. I am going to share it with few friends who are fed up of facebook.

How old is this site, why have I never heard about it?

What kind of progressive Muslim do you identify as?

I'm a Libertarian Socialist and I class myself as a non-denominational Muslim. I held many of the views I do now before I reverted, it just so happened that after I started believing in a deity, and I decided to look into Islam, that Islam fit with those views, and that ultimately it seemed plausible to me, and seemed beautiful to me. I was in a dark place mentally. I needed some direction in life, I needed an identity, and Islam gave me that. I thank Allah every day that I am alive, because I know that there's a good chance I could have ended up killing myself if it wasn't for me finding His word. Ultimately, Islam gives me a reason to exist.

I feel that more Conservative ideologies such as Salafism and Wahhabism reject many Islamic values, such as tolerance, freedom of thought, the pursuit of knowledge, peace, and being against oppression, things that the Quran promotes but many Conservative Muslims totally reject.

It makes me sick how the Saudi government tries to justify locking up more progressive clerics and executing anti-government activist when all they have done is speak. It makes me sick how Daesh claim they are the Islamic State when they obviously have forgotten verses such as 2:256. I see Islam as an inherently progressive set of ideas, and I feel that progressive Muslims need to make their voices heard, lest the reactionary forces of Wahhabi bullshit take Islam to the Dark Ages.
