Nehrus contributions have somehow been ignored due to the overwhelming critical opinions

What would have Nehru done in todays scenario?

It should not be forgotten that Nehru took an active interest in projects, some of which seemed ‘unnecessary luxuries’ to his critics. These include IITs and IIMs as well as Isro and the nuclear research program. The successful launch of Mangalyaan, India being a nuclear power and enjoying such an influential presence of in Silicon Valley is all due to the farsightedness of the man, under whose leadership and that of his party, according to some, “nothing worthwhile happened in the past 60 years”. Also, his idea of ‘development’ was not that of converting human beings into robots and morons. It is to his active interest that we owe institutions like Sahitya Akademi, National School of Drama, Film Institute, Sangeet Natak Akademi and Lalit Kala Akademi.

Nehrus contribution in pre and post independence is very vital. He laid foundation of nation by incorporating all sections and neighbour countries aspirations and he would try to resolve current issues on similar basis like. He emphasised on poverty eradication by providing employment, he might try to open more navratna companies and other avenues so that more jobs will be available to all strata of society. He will try to direct NITI Ayog in such a manner that India at earliest possible become a developed nation backed by strong primary and secondary sector.
With similar Panchsheel type policy he would not only try to resolve border and other issues with neighboring countries but also advocate it so that other countries too resolve their issues and world peace will be achieved. Non-alignment Movement will be used to resolve global problem like global warming, terrorism etc.

The current approach requires more pragmatism than ideology and hence his stance of non alignment might have hurt India's interests in the presence of the growing clout of China. India would not have been so dominant in international arena as Nehru being a strong believer in disarmament would have not pressed for the need of nuclear weapon building. Nehru was a efficient diplomat and hence might have been successful in getting India a permanent seat in UN security council.

Mr. Nehru would come more actively to involve India's point of view on the more widened up international issues or conflict to bring tranquility as a mediator rather than just restricted itself to Kashmir. He would further the new innovations and technology with a positive impact and co relation on the society's need by involving world renowned scientists and sociologists together, what he did actually in CDP, 1952. So, though we have no Nehru today but we have his vision and the only need is to put ourselves on the path of that vision to be a peaceful and successful nation.

Nehru was the strong believer in politics being the medium of change. He would have impeded criminalisation of politics and would have worked to reduce the trust deficit in politicians by inculcating a culture of value oriented politics. He would also have looked up for a more rational and scientific methods to curb implementation issues which ails development.

Most importantly being a socialist he would have not favored the current pattern of withdrawl of state from economic activities therefore though he might have addressed the issue of inequality but the growth might still be crippling.

He would surely raise the voice against the intimidating forces who are trying to threaten the unity and peace of the country under the slogan of regionalism and their particular religious leanings. He would be a torch bearer for the productive working of parliament which see unnecessary chaos and wastage of people money.
