Is it time to worry about jobs in India given the way technology is going and population time bomb is ticking

This may prove to be one of the hardest problem to solve for policy makers and political leaders. How to satisfy the yearning of ten of millions of young dreams entering the workforce every month looking for opportunity. And there is no linear answer including trying to replicate the Chinese manufacturing wonder given the way automation is likely to take over manufacturing. Is entrepreneurship the solution ? Doesn't education need to be tuned to this challenge. aren't the risks for young people too high.

Was trying to see if theres any such discussion on this when i aw this news:

L&T fires 14,000 employees in one of the biggest layoffs | Business News | Inshorts

Is the time almost here to start figuring out what can be the ways to create more employment in places where automation can't just step in, in the coming future?

We are far away from automation taking jobs away from Indians. We are laggards as far as technology adoption is concerned. Automation is not stealing jobs from Americans yet, so it is till far away from India

Its easier said than done. I do not deny that automation will eat up jobs, but i have 2 theories on this:

1. India will be one of the last countries to promote automation, irrespective of the profitability. We have not even adapted to basic diigitalisation, forget automation for quite sometime.

2. If the world (policy makers and decision takers) are aware of anything like this happening they will be taking decisions in the favour of the needy. The government will make sure that with increase in efficiency there is no decrease in livelihood of the human folk. Afterall most of the strong nations rely on their citizens to re-elect them
