Is 35 the new 25? Or was it always this way

I see a lot of my colleagues and friends from college who are madly running after money car houses and confuse these things with their passion. But 25 seems to be way to early for all this, these thoughts should exist at probably 35. So is 25 the new 35 with a lot of added stress?

I'd say more than 50% of people 25-35 are stuck in a serious rut where they have been unable to follow any of their dreams and are feeling forced to settle for something they have little interest in.. When we were teens we all thought we could do whatever we wanted when we got older but the reality is way different.. I only work for myself now after my own frustrations of working for other people boiled over and i'm 31 now and have been working for myself for 8 years and I can still choose a new direction if I wish.

I'm 26, will be 27 this October and there are barely any choices for a career nowadays. I studied for IAS, not that I really wanted to but I want job security and a career. Any other job you apply for has a billion other people applying for it. The truth is, the future is grim. Everything is getting worse. Its everyone for themsleves these days, no wonder so many people turn to crime etc. I used to be a reallyopitmistic guy, but I'm slowly become a pessimist. These so called experts havnt a clue, sitting in their nice offices on a a nice wage on planet zeebus. Totally out of touch with reality.

I agree that this mid-life crisis is occurring more and more often in younger adults. My anxiety and depression stems not from being unable to decide what I want, but from the fact that there is nothing to choose from. I had plans for my future, but any reevaluations of those plans means that I have to settle for less. I feel like I'm still waiting to begin my adult life but it's not going to happen any time soon working full-time minimum wage jobs.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Be yourself. whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all life’s deception, hard work, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.
